Dorothy Mae Poindexter

Dorothy M. Poindexter, 88, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at Harbour Manor Care Center in Noblesville.  She was born on March 29, 1934 to Orville and Cretie (Holloway) Kingery in Monroe County, Kentucky.

Dorothy was a member of Green Valley Church of Christ.  She worked in hospital care at Riverview Hospital and later in home health care.  Dorothy's greatest joy was caring for others, especially members of her family.  She was an excellent cook, always remembering everyone's favorites.

She is survived by her husband, Barlow Poindexter, who she married in 1949; daughter, Carol (Kenny) Wariner; son, Jerry (Connie) Poindexter; 7 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Russell (Sandra) Kingery.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her grandson, Matt Wariner; great-granddaughter, Natalie Marie Wariner; sisters, Mary Crews, Beatrice Crumpton, and Ruby Perine; infant sister, Louise Kingery; brothers, Ralph Kingery, Richard Kingery, and Ronald Kingery; and her infant brother, Harmon Leroy Kingery.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with services at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville.  Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
