Dorothy Ann (Beckett) Hirschfeld, 92, of Noblesville, Indiana, was welcomed into God’s loving embrace on May 14, 2026.
Born October 28, 1933 in Akron Ohio, she grew up in St. Marys Ohio on Grand Lake St. Marys. She was a high school cheerleader. As a mom, when she wasn’t taking her kids to music, ballet, art lessons, and swim team, she liked golf, played tennis, she also loved bowling and at 85 years old could still throw a strike. Most importantly she was faithful and helped lead Creative Living Bible Study. She was a member of Beta Beta Latreian philanthropic club and enjoyed the annual Taster’s Luncheon. She was a member of Harbour Trees Golf Club and The Dunes Golf and Tennis on Sanibel. She volunteered at Riverview Hospital, and she was an avid reader herself and also read books to school children through the iREAD program. She was an early supporter of the recent renovation of the St. Marys Theater and Grand Opera House. She loved traveling and one of her favorite trips was to the Holy Land. Later in life, often with four generations of her family, she enjoyed nature walks at the family cabin.
Later in life Dorothy split her time between Sanibel Island and Noblesville but wherever she lived it was always near water. In Florida the warmth of winter and beach life were idyllic and she loved when her children and grandchildren visited over spring break but Indiana was always home. In Indiana she loved watching the hummingbirds, tending to her beautiful flowers, and the sunrise over the lake. She was a kind soul, was loved dearly, and is already missed by all of us.
Dorothy and Stanley married in 1954. They celebrated 71 amazing years of marriage. Dorothy is survived by her husband Stanley, daughter Nancy Brownlee (Dan), son Jon (Kim), son Tom (Amy Evans), eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and sisters Helen Dershem and Pat Briggs. Preceding her in death were her parents, Raymond and Dorothy (Simmons) Beckett, her brothers Jim, Dick, Don, Ed and Jack along with sister Janet (Beckett) Spencer.
