Donald "Don" Wayne Hamm

Donald Wayne Hamm, 82, of Noblesville, passed away on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at Riverview Health in Noblesville. He was born on May 3, 1941 to William and Kate (McReynolds) Hamm in Woodway, Virginia.

Don was a mechanic at Firestone for 38 years before retirement, and then worked for several years for Noblesville Schools in maintenance. He enjoyed putting out a large garden every year and sharing vegetables with family, friends and neighbors.  He also enjoyed getting away to fish when he could.  He loved telling stories and never met a stranger.  Don’s greatest passion, however, was his grandkids.  Don made sure he never missed one of his grandkid’s sporting events (home and away), school activities or special events.  He loved watching his grandkids grow up, and on many occasions helped them get into the kind of mischief that only Grandpa could. 

He is survived by his sons, Mike Hamm and Chris (Angela) Hamm; grandsons, Jacob, Nathaniel and Alexander Hamm; and siblings, Les Hamm and Sue (Alan) Riley.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Mary Sue Hamm and nine brothers and sisters.
