Donald Joe "Sunset" Carson

Donald Joe "Sunset" Carson, 79, of Cicero, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2024 at his home.  He was born on December 18, 1944 to the late James L. and Joan E. (Ridge) Carson in Tipton, Indiana.

Don was in law enforcement for 25 years where he served under the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office and retired from the Noblesville Police Department.  He married Joyce Johnson on April 7, 1973 and they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  Don was a member of Omega Christian Church and the Hamilton County FOP #103.  He enjoyed watching NASCAR and Indy Car racing, the Indianapolis Colts, and old westerns.

Don is survived by his wife, Joyce F. Carson; daughters, Deborah S. (Peter) Hilger and Angela K. Holloway; sister, Nancy Voss; granddaughter, Lindsey N. (Zachary) McWhorter; grandson, Austin B. Holloway; and his great-grandson, Owen Wayne McWhorter.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, with services at 2:00 pm, on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, in Noblesville. Pastor Neal Brown will officiate.  Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero.
