David Gregory Duncan, 63, of Noblesville, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. Also known as “Dangerous Dave” Duncan. He was born on March 8, 1960 to John W. and Phyllis Duncan in Indianapolis, Indiana. Dave will be remembered for his love of motorsports, generous nature to others, and ingenuity to fix and create basically anything.
From racing cars himself to promoting races and managing racetracks, he did it all. Dave was an entrepreneur owning and operating many different businesses throughout his life including Dad’s Truck & Auto and Elwood Antique Mall & Flea Market. In more recent years he promoted for Mt. Lawn Speedway, bringing life back into the egg-shaped oval track he so loved. Dave was also a very outgoing man and took great pleasure spending time with friends and family. He adored his grandchildren and doted on them.
He is survived by his daughter, Lauren Duncan (Schadd Zimdahl); son, Matt Duncan; sister, Diane Duncan; grandchildren, Ruby Duncan and Aleister Zimdahl; aunts, Suzanne Duncan and Jo Ann Weiker; uncles, Mike Duncan and Joe Duncan. He was preceded in death by his parents.
