Dale Duane Unger, age 87, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away on February 22, 2026. He was born on July 18, 1938, in Noblesville, Indiana, to Russell Unger and Aletha Ponsler Unger.
Dale was a lifelong resident of the Noblesville area and a proud graduate of Noblesville High School, Class of 1958. Following high school, he served his country honorably in the United States Army Reserves.
Dale spent his working life as a skilled finish carpenter and was widely known for his craftsmanship, earning the nickname “Door Doc” for his expertise and attention to detail. His talent with wood extended beyond his profession, as woodworking was one of his greatest joys. He also enjoyed following NASCAR and, above all, spending time with his family.
Dale was a former member of the Noblesville Jaycees and an active member of the Noblesville Lions Club and the Noblesville Preservation Alliance, reflecting his deep commitment to his community and its history.
He is survived by his fiancée, Jackie Stevens; his children, Brian Scott Unger of Astor, Florida, Mike Unger of Noblesville, Heidi Unger of Indianapolis, and Heather Unger of Indianapolis; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his sisters, Anita Unger Flinchum of Noblesville and Suetta Unger Stokes of Atlanta, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joe Tansy; his first wife, Martha Walton; and his second wife, Margaret Devaney.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dale will be remembered for his craftsmanship, his generosity of spirit, his love of family, and his lifelong dedication to the Noblesville community.
