Christopher Davis

Christopher S.D. Davis , 54, Noblesville IN, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

Chris was born on December 25, 1966 in Anderson, Indiana, where he grew into his teens until moving to Eaton, Indiana before starting 7th grade.  Excelling in athletics, he played basketball, volleyball, ran track and was a star baseball player.  With an equally competitive nature, he would meet his match on the tennis court, leading Delta High School in rankings before graduating in 1985.

Growing up in a family of law enforcement officers, Chris had a special admiration for his uncle, Randy Davis, who was an instructor at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy for 30 years.  Their close relationship would initially gain him a front row seat in classroom instruction as well as field training and would eventually contribute to his desire and motivation to open a paintball arena, which he did, owning and operating Arena Combat (Muncie, IN) with much help from his childhood and lifelong friend, Patrick Lutz.  While running Arena Combat, he continued collaborations with his uncle in support of the academy, organizing and conducting various field training operations.

Throughout his affiliation with the academy and while operating his paintball business, he also worked at Vince’s Restaurant at the Muncie Airport.  Excelling in every position, he advanced from kitchen to management and, as a server, he was favorited by owner of Vince’s, Jim Davis.  It would be his serving experience and the impressions he made upon guests that inspired him to explore his future and interests.  With much respect and admiration for the careers of the men in his family, he would find success and fulfillment following a different path that would ultimately lead him to a successful career in sales. Enrolling in classes at Ball State University, he studied Business Administration and pursued a degree in Marketing, which he completed in 2004.  Upon graduation, he began his career working for a manufacturer’s representative firm, quickly excelling in his role selling fiber optic and construction test equipment in the CATV/broadband industry and dominated industry sales.  His leadership qualities and entrepreneurial spirit would eventually guide him in establishing his own CATV manufacturers rep firm, along with his close friend and colleague, John Bennett.  Together, they formed Team Sales Inc. in 2002, which they would develop into a reputable and prevalent CATV manufacturer’s representative firm across the US.  Chris was consistently recognized for his outstanding sales achievements, professionalism, integrity and industry knowledge.

He moved to Noblesville in 2001, creating the life he desired, surrounding himself with the people and things that made him complete.  He was a loving, passionate father, who instilled work ethic and independence in his children.  He taught them to swim at young ages, then enjoyed time swimming together.  He introduced them to the kitchen, to ultimately enjoy their cooking.  He enlightened them with many genres of music, and loved family jam sessions creating his own original content.  He taught them how to play Texas Holdem to, in turn, enjoy an opportunity to win against them.  He enjoyed teaching his son (Jax) gaming, specifically those games he grew up playing, until Jax exceeded him in his abilities.  He also enjoyed darts, movies and television, talking politics around the dinner table, playing pool and boating.  He was athletic and competitive, and took time to educate his children, teaching them everything he knew.  He succeeded in his goal as a father, to make his children better versions of himself.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Parker Davis; son, Jax; mother, Gayle (Phil) Baker; sister, Angela Baxter; niece & nephew, Peyton & Reese; step-daughter, Alesea Fritz; step-brothers, Chad (Lisa) Baker and Aaron Baker; aunt, Kim Cannon; cousins, Mallory and Tiffany Cannon Cooper; and his life-long friends, Pat Lutz, John Bennett, and Brian Spangler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Noland Davis; and his uncle, Randy Davis.

Private family services and Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
