Charles H. Nail

Charles H. Nail, 82, of Arcadia, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2026 at his home. He was born on December 4, 1943 to Charles and Martha (Henderson) Nail in Noblesville, Indiana.

Chuck proudly served in the United States Army in the Pershing Missile Program. Upon being discharged he worked for Delco Remy, Essig Brothers hardware store, served as a Deputy Reserve for Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department, and as a painter. Chuck enjoyed working with wood and metal, collecting shot glasses, and playing cards. He liked guns and target shooting. Chuck liked watching old westerns like "Gun Smoke" and anything with John Wayne. He was a great storyteller, quick with the funny one liner and was quite the jokester. Chuck loved being outdoors, taking care of his house and land. But most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sandy (Merritt) Nail; son, Eric (Shannon) Nail; daughter, Kristina Bockmon; brother, William (Cynthia) Nail; and granddaughter, Dani Bockmon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
