Carolyn Jane Crawley

Carolyn Jane Crawley, 71, of Noblesville, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026. She was born on December 11, 1954 to the late Howard and Cecilia Joyce (Saunders) Buis in Greencastle, Indiana.

Carolyn spent her formative years in Indianapolis, growing up with her eight siblings on Central Avenue. After graduating from Bishop Chatard High School, she met the love of her life, Gene, and they were married on August 11, 1973. Carolyn worked as a secretary for Buis Oil Company, and later, spent summers working at Bear Slide Golf Course. She loved spending time outside in the sun – working in the yard and tending to her plants, soaking up the rays with a book on the back deck, and vacationing on Marco Island with her toes in the sand. She had a heart of gold and the most infectious laugh. She cherished time with her family and friends, and absolutely adored her chihuahuas, Bentley and Sammy. Most of all, she loved her sons and her life revolved around them.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 53 years, Gene Crawley; sons, Brenton Crawley (Christos) and Justin Crawley; and her siblings, Julia Ertel (Gary), Trish Berry (Jerry), John Buis (Christy), Ed Buis (Nancy), Theresa Abbott (Chuck), Anne White (Jim), Lisa Spencer (Tom) and Christine Hummel (Steve).

A celebration of life will be held at Bear Slide Golf Course, 6770 231st Street, in Cicero, IN from 1:00-4:00 pm on Sunday, October 4, 2026.
