Carole Isabel Blake, 99, of Noblesville, Indiana passed away Friday, August 15, 2025 at her home in the presence of her sons and beloved dog, Sally. She was born on February 9, 1926 to Clarence and Caroline (Davidson) King in Mishawaka, Indiana.
Carole married John Burdette Blake on October 22, 1949. They resided in South Bend, Indiana for many years until they moved to Barbee Lake near Warsaw shortly after John retired, where Carole loved swimming and feeding the birds. The couple moved to Noblesville in 2005 and spent winters in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Carole taught fourth grade in Albion, Michigan and second grade in South Bend before starting her family. After raising her boys she enjoyed working as a doctor’s secretary. Throughout her life, Carole was an avid reader who kept a log of the books she had read since 1980. She was also a gifted knitter who created hundreds of items including baby blankets she donated to local hospitals. Her final creation was completed a few weeks before she passed.
Carole had a lifelong love of dogs, walking them daily well into her 90’s. She could name each of the nine dogs she had owned throughout her life.
She is survived by her sons, William “Bill” Blake (Dawn) and Thomas (Tom) Blake; grandchildren, Abbey Levenshus (Jonathan), Adam Blake (Lauren), and Tyler Blake (Melissa); and eight great-grandchildren, Rose, Hadley, Andrew, Beau, Grace, Henry, Oscar, and Eli.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband, John Blake; her parents; and brothers, Ted and Clarence King.
Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
A Celebration of Life for Carole and John Blake will be held on Sunday, September 21 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Funeral Center, 1685 Westfield Road, Noblesville, IN.
