Carol Ann Evan

Carol Ann Evan entered the peace of heaven on September 10, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 3, 1939, in Gary, Indiana, to Charles and Ann Bryniarski.

Throughout her life, Carol called several places home, including Gary, Merrillville, and Fishers, Indiana, as well as Pasadena, California, and Littleton, Colorado. No matter where life took her, the people she loved were always at the center of her world.

Carol was a strong woman who faced many obstacles throughout her life with courage and perseverance. Through every challenge, she continued to care for others and give of herself generously. She had a heart for helping people and was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need.

For the last 15 years of her life, Carol faced the difficult journey of dementia. Even as the disease gradually changed so much, her family continued to include her in their lives and activities. Carol was always there to support her granddaughters at their softball games, volleyball matches, and school concerts. Throughout those years, she remained surrounded by the love and care of her family, whose memories of her will forever extend far beyond the disease that affected her later years.

Carol took great pride in caring for her family and home. She was known for being a wonderful pie maker, a talented seamstress, and a devoted gardener. She could often be found folding and ironing her granddaughters’ clothes, tidying their rooms, and teaching them how to do their chores. She would let her granddaughters play dress up for hours in her closet to only have to put it all away herself. Carol gave the same attention and love to everything she did.

Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life. Carol loved her family deeply and cherished the time, traditions, and memories they shared together. She also had a special love for her cats, who brought her companionship and happiness throughout her life.

Carol found joy in simple pleasures that made life beautiful. She enjoyed trips to the mountains, taking boat rides on the lake, and spending time playing the slot machines at a casino. She loved going to Siesta Key Beach, where she would spend hours picking up hundreds of seashells and watching beautiful sunsets. Among Carol’s sweetest memories were the many trips to Dairy Queen with her granddaughters.

Above all, Carol was a woman of faith. Her faith helped guide her through life’s many seasons and gave her strength through the obstacles she faced.

Carol is survived by her children, Kimberly (Jeffrey) Parker, Michael (Michelle) Evanyo, Kenneth Evanyo, and Kerrie (Gregory) Wincek; her grandchildren, Kaelin, Katherine, Megan, Bridgett, Alannagh, Michael, Abigail, and Payton; her great-grandchildren, Rosaline, Aisling, Katherine, and Ciara; and her sister, Lori Bryniarski.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ann Bryniarski, and her brothers, Stanley, Charles, and Richard.

Carol Ann Evan will be remembered for her strength, her big heart, her generosity, and the deep love she had for her family. Dementia may have been part of her journey, but it will never define the life she lived or the woman she was. The lessons she taught, the love she gave, and the memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Though she will be deeply missed, Carol’s legacy of love, faith, resilience, and service for others will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Parish at Geist, 10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, Indiana. Family and friends are invited to gather beforehand for visitation in the Narthex from 10:00 a.m. until the start of Mass. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass in the Social Hall.

The Funeral Mass will also be available to watch via livestream through the Holy Spirit at Geist YouTube channel.
