Carol Lynn (Soldwisch) Bruns, 87, Noblesville, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus, Noblesville.
Carol was born in Chicago on May 2, 1938, to Selma (Jahnke) and Milton Soldwisch. She moved with her parents to Denver, IA in 1949, where she attended local public schools. She attended Iowa State Teacher’s College, Cedar Falls, where she obtained an elementary teaching certificate.
She spent a year teaching school in Clarion, Iowa, before marrying Eugene Bruns on June 14, 1958. She later taught at several public schools in Waterloo, IA. Besides teaching, she also worked as a pharmacy technician and contract specialist for the federal government.
During her 67 years of marriage, she called Iowa, California, Maryland and Indiana home; specifically, Noblesville for the past 26 years. She was a deeply devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who placed her Christian faith at the center of her life. She enjoyed being a homemaker, entertaining friends and hosting international visitors. Carol was an active disciple of Cornerstone Lutheran Church, Carmel, involved in choir, Bible study, and worship. She was a willing volunteer throughout her life.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, Noblesville; daughter Beth (Scott), Prusinski, Elwood; son Mark (Jeffrey Eisen), Gig Harbor, WA; brother Gary (Linda), Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Eric, Elwood, Lauren (Kegan Fernung), Oolitic IN, and William (Alexandria McVarish), Bend OR; and great grandchildren, Blake Elizabeth and Michael Jay Fernung. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; stepmother, Ardith Brettmann; brother, Lyle; stepbrother, Jerald Brettmann (Jan); and daughter, Sue Lynn, who died at birth.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main Street in Carmel. Visitation begins at 9:30 am with the service following at 11:00 am. A light lunch will be served.
The family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Cornerstone Lutheran Church Foundation, 4850 E. Main Street, Carmel, IN 46033.
