Brittany Layne Nord

Brittany Layne Nord, 40, of Fishers, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 7, 2021 in her home.  She was born in Anderson, Indiana on June 1, 1981 to Kent and Lisa (Williams) Harvey. Brittany grew up in Marion, Indiana and graduated with honors from Marion High School in 1999. She went on to attend Purdue University where she graduated with a degree in Medical Technology. In both of her school settings, Brittany was a bright light in the many organizations and extracurriculars she participated in.

Brittany turned her passion for the direction and acceleration of medical science into a thriving career as a Senior Cell Therapy Sales Specialist at Terumo BCT. Prior to this she was a valued member of the patient care team at IU Health as a Medical Technologist. Her exceptional medical skill and knowledge greatly benefitted many patients undergoing cellular and blood related therapies.

The great love of Brittany’s life was the family she and her husband of 17 years, Andrew, built together. Andrew knew from the first moment of meeting Brittany just how uniquely special she was. A deep and resonating love quickly grew and they were married on May 15th, 2004. The focus of Brittany’s joyful life was her children, Dominic and Dakota. As a family, they shared many adventures together in their RV, camping, kayaking, hiking, and mushroom hunting. Brittany was pure magic with her creativity and imagination and this magic carries on with her children.

Brittany’s love for the outdoors and all forms of water was shared by their extended families who were often invited to join in on the family adventures. Whether it was at the lakes or in Jamaica with her parents, or camping and hiking with Andrew’s family, Brittany was happiest when surrounded by those she loved and she eagerly planned each trip with love.

Brittany dedicated her life to the betterment of the world around her through her medical career and personal life. She used her many talents and abilities to bring joy to others. She was exceptionally talented with photography and sketching. Her family cherishes the art she leaves behind. Brittany enjoyed curating a wildlife friendly yard, as well as gardening and growing flowers. She was an active member of ITOWN Church in Fishers where she developed a resounding faith.

Brittany’s beauty radiated inside and out through her sweet and kind demeanor. She emanated joy and compassion to everyone she encountered. She is fondly remembered and cherished by many friends, neighbors, and colleagues alike for she was incapable of leaving a bad impression. Her loss will be felt by all who cared for her.

Brittany is survived by her loving husband, Andrew Nord; cherished children, Dominic & Dakota; and adoring parents, Kent & Lisa Harvey. She is deeply missed by her extended family including grandparents, Tom & Patricia Bryan; in-laws, Jerry & Connie Nord; aunts & uncles, Jim & Julie Teague, Gordon & Cathy Harvey, Jim & Carolyn Eagleson, Teresa & Dave Pulley, and Dennis Harvey; sister-in-law, Kim Schneider; nieces & nephews, Grant, Savana, Bridget & Morgan; and many cousins.

Brittany was preceded in death by her beloved mother-in-law, Donna Nord; and her grandparents, Max & Eilene Harvey.

Brittany loved all and was loved by all. Her family prays this is the legacy by which she will be remembered.

A Celebration of Life is planned for October 13, 2021 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Pastor David Earlewine will officiate services at 7:00pm. Brittany loved bright colors, neck scarves, and pearls. As a reflection of her vibrant life, guests are asked to dress comfortably to honor her life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Dominic and Dakota’s educational funds through an online donation. Brittany’s fullest effort went into her children and this purpose will help fulfill her intentions for their lives.
