Blaine R. Miller, 62, of Westfield, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at his home after his battle with Glioblastoma. He was born on September 12, 1963 to Gene and Carrie (Mullican) Miller in New Castle, Indiana.
Blaine spent his formative years on the farm in Rushville, Indiana. There in Rushville he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Anne Miller (formerly Fry), the two would go onto graduate Rushville Consolidated High in (1982), during his time he was a member of the varsity basketball team. From there the two went onto Purdue University, where Blaine would secure his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Blaine and Beth would settle in Indianapolis after school and would begin to start their family, welcoming their first son, Bryce, in 1989 before another son, Jordan in 1992. Their 3rd son, Taylor was born during their 4-year stint living in Cincinnati. After moving back to Indianapolis to be closer to family, Blaine pursued an M.B.A. in Business Administration and Management. His professional career involved stints with BSA, Hixson, & Honeywell before 11 years with Siemens in Indianapolis. A project with Siemens led Blaine to back to his Alma Mater of Purdue University, and eventually direct employment with Purdue. Blaine spent 17 and half years as a Purdue employee, most recently holding the Title of Assistant Director Physical Facilities. Blaine would also acquire the certifications of Building Commissioning Professional & Certified Energy Manager from the Association of Energy Engineers while also being recognized as Professional Engineer by both Indiana and Ohio.
While Blaine took great pride in work and professional accomplishments, his greatest joys in life came from spending time with his family. Annual road trips with Beth and his sons to Florida, paired with boating trips to Dale Hollow Lake, allowed him to share his love of music from all genres. Blaine’s love of sports changed from high level pickup basketball to coaching his sons in both basketball and soccer. He became an avid golfer in his 40s and loved nothing more than playing 18 holes with his sons or some close friends. He was a diehard Purdue sports fan that never missed a Purdue basketball game, and held Purdue Football season tickets for most of the 2000s. Blaine and Beth also developed a love for hiking, but loved he nothing more than being able to take a walk around the neighborhood each evening with his beloved wife.
Blaine is survived by his wife and love of his life who he met at 16 and married June 23, 1984, Elizabeth "Beth" Miller; sons, Bryce Miller (Andrea Taylor), Jordan Miller, and Taylor Miller; sisters-in-law, Kristine Kuhn (Terry), Kathleen Harding (Jeff), Marcia Budreau (Roger), and Julie Gordon (Dwayne); siblings, Doug Miller (Judy), Betsy Miller (Harold), and Shawn Miller; as well as several nieces & nephews and great-nieces & great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Blaine was preceded in death by his father, Gene Miller; his mother, Carrie Jo Mullican Miller; brother, Kenneth Miller; and his in-laws, Dave & Linda Fry.
