Beverly Jean Fye Smith, 88, of Noblesville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026.

Born on July 16, 1938, in Elyria, Ohio, Beverly was the daughter of Robert and Esther Fye. She devoted her life to her family as a homemaker and was the beloved wife of Colonel John Sherman Smith, United States Air Force. Beverly and John (“Jerry”) were married on August 23, 1958, and shared 53 years of marriage until his passing on April 15, 2011.

Beverly was the devoted mother of Edward Dean Smith of Monrovia, Maryland; Caroline Marie Smith of Dana Point, California; Janette Elizabeth Nigro of Atlanta, Indiana; and Marilyn Ann Ahuna of Richmond, California.

A faithful member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville, Beverly’s Catholic faith was a guiding presence throughout her life. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable happiness.

She also held a lifelong love for Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers. Beverly enjoyed training and competing with her dogs in National Hunt Tests, where she combined her passion for animals with the fellowship of fellow enthusiasts.

Beverly is survived by her grandchildren: Lauren Elise Resiak, Nicholas Paul Nigro, and Jenna Marie Mosley of Indiana; Lani Elizabeth Montellano, Carol Leigh Ahuna, Jackson Frank Phan, and Langton James Phan of California; and Robert John Smith, Shane Austin Smith, and Cody Diane Smith of Maryland. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren: Ava Elizabeth Resiak, Michael Anthony Resiak, James Mitchell Nigro, Henry Gray Nigro, William Gray Nigro, and Vincent Miller Mosley of Indiana; Jared Parker Smith and Elliott Gene Smith of Maryland; Guadalupe Leigh Montellano of California along with many extended family members and dear friends.

A Catholic funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 12:00 noon at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 9900 E. 191st Street, Noblesville, Indiana. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service in the church gathering hall.

Beverly will be remembered for her unwavering faith, devotion to her family, gentle kindness, and appreciation for life’s simple blessings. Her legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew and loved her.
