Arthur Vernon Thompson (Vern), 81, formally from Noblesville, passed away September 19, 2025 at his home in New Port Richey, Florida. He was born November 24, 1943, to Kelly and Gladys (Blankenship) Thompson in Hilton, Virginia.
Vernon recently celebrated his 59th wedding anniversary with his wife Dona. He worked as a machinist at Noblesville Casting Company, Fred Frozen Foods, and Kokomo Chrysler before he retired. Vernon coached his son’s Little League Baseball teams and his daughter’s Softball Teams. He loved spending time with his family, playing softball, Euchre, and Dominos. After his retirement, he traveled to parts of the United States in his RV with his wife and became a Floridan Snowbird.
He is survived by his wife, Dona (Gunion) Thompson; daughter, Angela (Thompson) Rager (Ryan); son, Anthony (Tony) Thompson (Mihaela); daughter, Melissa (Thomspon) Player (Joe); sisters, Lucille Brooks, Betty Godby, Connie Myers, and Patricia Myers; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorthy Pole, Bonnie Homer, and Nancy Jane Thompson; and brothers, Robert Thompson, Doyle Thompson, and Carlos Thompson.
Visitation will be at 12pm-2pm. Services will be 2pm on Monday September 29, 2025 at Randall & Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, in Noblesville. Burial to follow at Cicero Cemetery in Cicero, Indiana.
