Amanda Brennan

Amanda Brennan, 42, of Westfield, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born on July 11, 1980 to Timothy and Rochelle Brennan in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Amanda was a lover and a fighter. As a child she loved to play with dolls and friends. People stopped her in public to comment on her beauty, her porcelain skin, and her golden curls. She was strong, athletic, spunky, and smart. She played the violin, wrote poetry, and choreographed dances. As a teenager, she met her best friend, Jenna, who moved in across the street and is still a dear friend today. Her softball coach called her “Cheerleader” and set an ultimatum that she had to choose between the sports. Due to the ultimatum, she chose cheerleading and went on to be part of nationally acclaimed teams. She often led the team in prayer and was always encouraging, supportive, and fun-loving. She had a smile that lit up the room and a hug that melted your heart. She had the opportunity to go to France twice and fell in love with the people, beauty, and culture. Amanda graduated from Ball State University with a major in Speech and Communication. She was very organized, hard working, and relational which allowed her success as a paralegal.

In 2006 she met Shawn Theriot, and they fell in love. They enjoyed good food, good movies, running, and trips to local events together. Most of all, they enjoyed being with Lillyana, their beautiful daughter. Amanda was completely smitten with Lilly and wanted to spend every moment with her. Through many trials and treatments, Amanda always provided a safe, loving, nurturing environment for Lilly. Even between infusions and radiation, Amanda would go to her “appointments” and then re-join the family for a nice dinner and a trip to the Michigan beach. She was always positive and always fighting the melanoma. Toward the end, she reiterated her love for all of us, her face still lit up when she saw Lilly, and she spoke of how much she enjoyed homeschooling Lilly and watching her grow.

Amanda will be terribly missed by her friends and family, but we know she loved Jesus and is in the arms of our Savior. She is survived by her husband, Shawn Theriot; daughter, Lillyana Theriot; parents Timothy and Rochelle Brennan; brother, Andrew (Morgan) Brennan; and sister, Alyssa (Andrew) Demaree.
