Allen Wayne Ely

Allen Wayne Ely, 78, of Noblesville passed away at his home from cancer on Tuesday January 24, 2023. He was born on May 2nd, 1944 to Everett and Ruby (Lundy) Ely in Pennington Gap, Virginia

Wayne moved to Indiana when he was 20 years old and began working at Ford Motor Company where he worked for 42 years. Among his many hobbies throughout his life, he enjoyed drag racing, raising horses, horseback riding, harness racing and tractor pulling. Wayne enjoyed watching sports, especially college football. Having a big family, he enjoyed hosting large family events for holidays and birthdays.

Wayne is survived by his wife Patricia; grandson, Beau (Danielle) Ely; great-granddaughter, Olivia Ely; brother, Larry (Vickie) Ely; sisters, Joy (Jim) Mills, Brenda (Bill) Iles, and Mary Brooks; along with a large extended family. 

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by his son, Allen Wayne Ely II; brothers, EJ, Harold, and Ken Ely; and sisters, Ruth McElroy and Linda Parker.

Visitation will be Friday January 27, 2023 from 10 to 2 with services to follow at Randall and Roberts Funeral Home, 1150 Logan Street, Noblesville, IN 46060. Wayne will be laid to rest at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville.
