Alexandra “Sandra” Jane Wischmeyer (Rae), 85, of Fishers, was called home to Jesus on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Grand Brook Memory Care in Zionsville, Indiana.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Amanda (James) Graves, Oliver W. (Leann) Wischmeyer III, and Elizabeth (Chris) Farr; her sister, Marilyn Mana; her grandchildren, Christina, Ashley, Zachary, Samantha, and William; and her nieces and nephew, Toni Siering (Mana), Alex Vaccaro (Mana), Angie Huesgen (Mana), and Don Mana.
Sandra was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Oliver Wischmeyer, Jr.; her parents, David and Grace (Potter) Rae; her brother, David Rae; and her in-laws, Oliver and Viola (Meagher) Wischmeyer.
Alexandra Jane Rae was born on November 6, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was baptized and confirmed at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in the Walnut Park neighborhood of St. Louis. She met the love of her life, Oliver, when she and her lifelong friend Margie Brandmeyer were placed on a Lutheran bowling league team with Oliver and his cousin, Allen Meagher. Sandra and Oliver were married on August 21, 1971, beginning a devoted partnership that lasted many years.
Throughout her life, Sandra took great pride in caring for her home and devoted countless hours to volunteering in her children’s schools and in the Lutheran churches they belonged to over the years in St. Louis, St. Charles, Naperville, and Fishers. She was a talented seamstress, lovingly making her own wedding dress and countless dresses and outfits for her family.
Sandra was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and shared a deep love of the St. Louis Blues with her late husband. She was also very proud of her Scottish heritage, as her father immigrated to the United States from Scotland. She treasured trips abroad to visit family and delighted in wearing her many tartan scarves and drinking tea.
