Alan Rork, 82, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. He was born on September 22, 1941 to Oren and Mary Ruth (Holcomb) Rork in Anderson, Indiana.
Alan was a retired pastor, who served at Peace Lutheran Church for the Deaf. He proudly graduated from Concordia Seminary at the age of 66. He was missions pastor, leading Bible studies for the Deaf all over Indiana, prison ministries for Deaf inmates in various states, and he traveled to Ghana, India and Israel. Prior to becoming a pastor, he was a printer for 33 years at Warner Press. He was a huge fan of Notre Dame Football, Colts Football, as well as Indiana Fever basketball, Indiana University basketball, and Cincinnati Reds baseball.
Alan was an avid fisherman, and served as presidents of the Indiana and National Bass Associations for the Deaf for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Diana Rork; daughter, Beverly (Dave) Lubs; son, Andy Rork; step-daughters, April (Eugene) Ball and Nina (Emett) Everett; grandchildren, Melanie (Christian) Watson, Nicholas Lubs, Casey Rork, and Sammy Rork; great-grandchild, Ruthie Watson; 7 step-grandchildren; and 10 step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sally Rork; sister, Elen Zook; and brother, Oren Rork, Jr.
Visitation will be from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at Randall & Roberts Fishers Mortuary, 12010 Allisonville Road, in Fishers. Services (ASL interpreted) will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 2525 E 11th Street in Indianapolis, with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Rockcreek Cemetery in Westport, Indiana.
