Adele M. Coons

Adele M. Coons, 95, of Fishers, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 8, 1929 to George and Agnes (Herbst) Laurent in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Adele worked with the US Public Health Service in Richmond, IN, where she was the office secretary for the Dental Chairside Assistant program as well as the topical application of fluorides for children. She then worked for the Indiana State Board of Health Dental Division on the addition of fluoride to Crest toothpaste. Later, Adele worked as an Executive Assistant for the Indiana Veterinary Medical Association. She attended Earlham College in Richmond Indiana and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and floral design. She also loved traveling and sports, especially the Colts and Pacers. Adele was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Anne’s Guild. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Adele is survived by her husband, Gale E. Coons; daughter, Susan (Michael) Need; sons, David E. (Maria) Coons and Jeffrey L. Coons; grandchildren, Adam (Courtney) Coons, Jennifer (Kyle) Concannon, Lauren (Michael) Strauss, and Eric Need; and great-grandchildren, Blair and Charlie Concannon, Christopher and Connor Coons, and Riley and Chloe Strauss.

She was preceded in death by her son, Steven L. Coons; great-granddaughter Kennedy Strauss, sisters, Mary Tolen, Agnes Hoyt, and Irene Wood; and her in-laws, Harry & Bessie Coons.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, with Mass at 11:00 am, on Monday, July 7, 2025 at St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, 11441 Hague Road, in Fishers. Rev. Sean M. Aaron will officiate.
